Creating Nature Inspired Gardens – Series 4 of 4

We are building on the success of our garden series of 2021 and have teamed up with Stratford and Area Master Gardeners to bring you this lecture series as they celebrate the year of the garden. Join us on Zoom to learn about their biodiversity project ReLeaf Stratford, and listen to specialists on conserving and restoring native trees, layered gardens, small space gardening, and native pollinators.

February 10 – Dr. Stefan Weber | From Seed to Seed: Conserving and Restoring Native Trees
March 10 – Sean James | Layered Designs for Natural Gardens
April 14 – Cathy Kavassalis | Small Trees for Small Spaces

May 12 – Dr. Victoria MacPhail | Native Plants for Pollinators
Dr. Victoria MacPhail (@VJMacPhail) is an ecologist and pollination biologist with extensive experience with many aspects of pollination, from plant breeding systems to bumblebee identification and pollinator-friendly gardening. She completed her PhD at York University looking at the benefits, challenges and scientific value of community conservation. She is a founding member and current Co-Chair of Pollination Guelph a volunteer-run charitable organization that works to protect pollinators and their habitat. She has been interviewed by tv, radio and print media and gives presentations and workshops across Ontario.
