What’s On

The Haliburton Master Gardeners are out in your community!

In the dropdown menu, check out our Events Calendar for upcoming public gardening events including our Annual Plant Sale!

In 2022 the MG's teamed up with the David Suzuki Butterflyway Project to encourage communities to grow native plants, grasses, shrubs & trees specifically selected to nurture and feed pollinators – birds, bees, bugs, bats and of course, butterflies. Find out how you can join in and create a pollinator patch in your own backyard!

Have an old apple tree on your property? Want to know what variety it is, how to preserve and care for it? The MG's have partnered with the University of Guelph's Heritage Apple Project to help identify and inventory heritage varieties through our county. We work with local residents to increase knowledge about these historic trees, collect and submit leaf samples to the university for DNA testing to identify varieties. Find out how you can get involved so we can continue to enjoy these remarkable old trees for generations to come.

In 2023, the MG's launched the Stepping into Nature project! This exciting project focuses on the native plants and insects found along the Minden Riverwalk Trail.
