Do a google search of images to try and match your bug. (For your search string, use the host, the bug order & its colour, the host plant & the geographical area.)
When you locate an image match on a reliable website you can confirm it using the proper name on www.bugguide.com
The reliable website will have the control, elimination and prevention of the pest.
www.IDtools.org has interactive identification keys.
At Ontario Crop IPM website, http://www.omafra.gov.on.ca/IPM/english/ you can search the host plant rather than the pest and you can send them the bug.
