2012 Hosta of the Year - Hosta ‘Liberty’ Hostas are an extremely versatile plant for the shady garden. There are hundreds of varieties and many are outstanding specimen plants. Hosta ‘Liberty’ is no exception. Liberty is a stunning mid size hosta with thick leaves of deep green and a contrasting yellow border that changes to creamy white later in the season. The lilac coloured flowers appear in early summer. The thick leaves offer good slug and snail resistance. The plant prefers partial to full shade in most types of soil. Size is 40-45 cm (16-18”) tall and 75-90 cm (29-35”) wide. Can be used in containers, borders and mass plantings.
